This album contains photos from my recent visit to Japan May 3 to June 7, 2006. This was my first trip to Asia and first trip with virtually unlimited photo memory space, so there are a lot of pictures. City highlights include Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara, Hiroshima, and Takayama. There may be an over emphasis on food pictures.
By far, this was my favorite trip overseas. People were friendly, streets were impecably clean, and the public transportation amazingly convenient. Of course, what made the trip so wondereful were the friends who were so much more then hosts or guides to me. By the end of my visit I felt as though I had always been a part of their community and family.

Yay for woman power! I met these amazing, beautiful women two and a half years ago in an awesome class, Female Sexuality. Somehow by fate or miracle four of us ended up living in NYC: Marta is doing her graduate studies at NYU, Adele is overseeing a program at Kaplan, and Molly is teaching middle school science through Teach for America and then there is me. On this very special Sunday evening we were joined by Anne who is on her way to study at Malta. These are pictures taken while we were eating our picnic dinner in Battery Park and right before the ballet began. That night the Boston Ballet, American Ballet Theater, and the New York City Ballet performed. It was the most amazing dance performance I had ever seen in my life.
